Welcome to Kirtzinger Quarter Horses, home of the following stallions: "The Peppered Kid" aka Jose; "GC Hired Gun" aka Custer and "Call Me Tardee Clu" aka TC.
We strive to produce horses that have the desired visual traits of a true Quarter Horse - Good straight legs, a long neck, short back, HUGE hip, outstanding forearms and gaskins as well as having that overall 'pretty' that can't be measured with a yardstick or a protractor. Our horses have to be able to ride after they're finished a career as a Halter Horse. Not only do they look good, but they must have the smarts to learn a job and the positive attitude that allows me to enjoy working with them on a daily basis. When I take them to the shows, I'm often asked if they've been gelded. That's how I expect them to act when they're not in the breeding shed.
If you should have any questions about the stallions or any of our horses, please feel free to 'chat'. I log in periodically, although I do have a 'full time job' (one that really pays a wage!) so I may be a day or so getting back to you sometimes.
Enjoy the horse 'eye candy' as you surf the site. Please feel free to pass on this link to anyone who enjoys a good quarter horse. We look forward to meeting you sometime down the road!

Thanks Judy! So glad that you got a tall, colored filly! Will you be showing her in 2009? I know she was an August baby, so I'm just wondering what your plans are.
If you get a minute, could you please send me some pictures of her for our website? I suppose she's all fuzzy right now, so you may want to wait until she sheds out. I'm just learning how to use this blog and am wondering if I can attach a picture on this site. Will have to go back to the editor page and see if I can add that function.
Just found another wonderful feature. If I right-click, I can do a spell check! Awesome for those like me, who are spelling-challenged!
Anyway, Congratulations again and I look forward to seeing your girls this spring. You've got some extraordinarly well bred APHA mares! Will you be bringing Switch Hitter's Dam to Custer?

Jose is going to the QH Circuit in Denver at the end of March. He'll be shown in Halter, WP and Trail. We're hoping for a reasonable placing in the all-round and some points. The next weekend, we'll bring him back to Canada so that he's here to meet all of his girlfriends!
In the meantime, if anyone desperately needs semen, we can collect him in Billings and have the semen shipped.
I look forward to your visit in April!

It's always exciting deciding which stallion to breed to. We're really going to have fun with about 20 mares to breed and 3 stallions to choose from! Sorry, what do you mean by CCF? Maybe it's late and I'm tired, just can't think of what that acronym means...

Sandy, my Mom is having a hard time picking which mare to breed to Jose. She's been sitting me down and asking me but I have absolutely no clue who to breed. I asked my Mom if I could breed my breeding mare to Custer next year because I'll be starting my two year old then (at least he'll be two when I start him, he's just coming one). You don't know how excited my Mom is. See you in April. And a quick question, do you guys go to the CCF? Kaity

I'd love to go. When is it?
Kaitlynn Hunter says...
Sandy... CCF means Classic Colored Futurity. Me and Mom went to it last year and she's taking her filly "Fire Up Your Jets" again in lunge line. You should go, it's a blast... You need to breed 20 mares to 3 studs, WOW!!! It must be a hard decision. I know it would be if our family had 3 studs. But we have 2 studs and 13 mares. It's insane and both of our studs are for sale!!! Happy Valentines Day. Kaity

Are your stallions enrolled in the APHA breeders trust? So their paint offspring can be enrolled.

If there's enough interest, we'll enroll. Do you show? How much is each point worth in the Paint Association?

Hi Sandy,

yes we show, i'm not sure how much each point is worth, it changes from year to year depending on how much money there is.

Thank you so much for the opportunity to own these 'Jose' babies and who knows there may be room for more here!!
Spring is almost here! See you at the shows!
